Due to the closure of the Historical Mapping Department
at the Ordnance Survey, we can only supply the 1" to 1 mile maps at the
present time. We are researching how to provide the larger scale county maps
as before & will up date the website once we know we can supply these
maps again.
See how your home town or locality used to look 100 years ago! Archive maps are the forerunner to the Ordnance Survey Landranger® Series. The series was surveyed from the late 1800s and show contours, latitude & longitude, parish boundaries, railways, roads, waterways and woods.
Choose from one of the original series, for example Marlborough No. 266 at a scale of 1:63 360 (1" to 1 mile). These other maps are currently unavailable at the moment, a postcoded centred map at a scale of 1: 10 560 (coverage of 2km x 1.4km) or from the various County sheets, but we hope to be able to supply them again in the near future.
Unlike the postcode maps, the original 1" to 1 mile series and County Sheets are copies of the originals and therefore cannot be manipulated in any way. If you provide us with the following information, we will search the availability of maps according to your specifications.
| 1: Location |
|
| 2: Map type |
|
| 3: Map Date |
The maps are mounted in cream or dark green conservation quality mounts and supplied ready-to-hang in a choice of frames.
